More about Moor

The History of Moor Therapy

The entire range of Vitamoor products is based on the remarkable therapeutic properties of the Austrian deep moor.

The effects of “healing mud” have been known for many centuries. Perhaps the earliest records of its use come from Galen and Plinius, the great medical minds from the Egyptian era, who described the use of moor deposited by the river Nile as a major healing medium.

Nearly 3,000 years ago, the Romans and the Celts used moor to treat their wounds. In the 16th Century, the famous alchemist Paracelsus, described moor as the “Quinta Essentia Vitae” (the quintessence of life), because he considered moor to be the ultimate remedy or elixir of life. Numerous clinical studies on moor therapy have since been carried out (commissioned by the German and Austrian governments, among others). Today, based on the results of these studies, thousands of doctors all over the world use and endorse moor treatments for various ailments, such as:

Acne, arthritis, Arthrosis, Athlete’s foot, Bladder infection, Burns, circulatory problems, Colic, Colitis, Duodenitis, Duodenal ulcers, Endometritis, Fibromyalgia, Gall bladder disorders, Hyper-acidity, Gastritis, Gout, Gynecological ailments, Infertility, Kidney disorders, Liver complaints, Lumbago, Menopausal problems, Menstrual disorders, Muscular aches and pains, Neuralgia, Neuritis, Phlebitis, Hemorrhoids,…

What is Moor?

Moor is a type of organic mud created by the gradual decomposition of plant matter in a permanently humid environment. The valuable organic base substances are preserved because in the complete absence of oxygen, complete decomposition of organic matter as we know it does not take place. Under very special conditions, such as the presence of certain bacteria, the plant matter undergoes a transformation process that produces a homogenous dark brown or black substance over the course of hundreds or thousands of years. During this transformation or “ripening” process all of the organic and inorganic substances within the plants are assimilated into the moor.

There are three types of moor: flat moor, high moor, and deep moor. Deep moor developed over a long period of time through a geological process whereby the layers of moor are pushed deep beneath the earth’s surface. As a result of the high compression (from geological pressure), the moor’s therapeutic components are highly condensed and concentrated.

As such, deep moor has by far the highest therapeutic and cosmetic benefits.

Vitamoor products contain only this valuable, pure, and highly concentrated deep moor.

How Moor Works

  • The herbal components, trace elements, bioactive elements, and organic substances present in moor are easily absorbed by the body, both internally and through the skin. The body absorbs all the substances that it needs to maintain balance and health according to its needs at that time and allows the rest to pass through unused.
  • Moor is a natural antibiotic and anti-inflammatory. A scientist discovered that moor baths stimulate the production of the body’s own cortisone, which in turn help relieve pain. Furthermore, 4,000 cases of chronic stomach ulcer have been internally treated with moor. In 95% of the cases it was so successful that surgery was no longer needed.
  • Moor is detoxifying. It effectively cleanses the body of impurities, toxins, acids, wastes, deposits, and other undesirable substances.
  • Moor has a balancing effect on hormones. Many moor clinics have reported great success in treating menstrual disorders, menopausal symptoms, and infertility.
  • Moor stimulates circulation and at the same time relaxes tense muscles.
  • Kirlian photo images reveal the high bio-energy content of deep moor. This energy is taken up by the body at the cellular level.

Cosmetic Benefits of Moor

  • When applied to the skin, moor has a comprehensive and holistic effect. The active ingredients present in deep moor bind to and penetrate the cells of the outer skin. The binding process with the proteins in the skin results in an exchange of ions. Harmful positive ions in the skin tissues are exchanged for the rejuvenating negative ions in the moor. The particles are then absorbed into the blood stream generating a healing process throughout the body.
  • The moor's cosmetic benefits result from the presence of vital oils, fatty acids, and lipoids, which occur naturally and are not artificially introduced, as is the case with most cosmetics. These substances penetrate easily into the skin and subcutaneous tissues, re-establishing the skin's natural pH balance and improving blood circulation.
  • At the same time, the skin is detoxified, purified, toned, and revitalized by soluble organic and inorganic active nutrients.
  • Moor is naturally hypoallergenic and harmonizes every skin type. It removes excess oil from the skin while simultaneously keeping the skin hydrated. Moor eliminates the need to use different moisturizers for different skin types.
  • Research has revealed that the active herbal ingredients in moor are helpful in treating various skin problems such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, burns, scars, stretch marks, and cellulite.
  • Cellulite consists of lumpy deposits in the subcutaneous layer caused by a build-up of toxins and metabolic waste, poor blood circulation, and fluid retention due to poor lymphatic flow. Deep moor acts on both the deposits and their causes and is therefore especially effective for the treatment of cellulite. It also helps promote skin regeneration during weight loss.
  • Most estheticians are well aware that in order to have clean, healthy, and beautiful skin, it is not only necessary to use skin care products of the highest quality but also to maintain a healthy diet to minimize the intake of toxins that damage the skin. Using moor internally helps to detoxify the entire body and is therefore regarded as a fundamental part of moor skin therapy. “Moor is very special for its ability to create a long-lasting ‘deep warmth’ in the body and to eliminate toxic substances from the tissues.” (Prof. Robert Gieler, Vienna, Austria).
